A couple hacks for Construction Admin in the time of COVID

I've been in the middle of construction administration for a large School of Education Building,  which broke ground in November.  I think we have done a few things that have worked out well to support social distancing, so I thought it would be worth sharing for your consideration.

    1. Weekly OAC meetings are now held via teleconference.  This is a no-brainer, but as an Owner-side PM I have the leeway to maintain this practice long past the lifitng of official quarantine, which is something I am seriously considering.
    2. Job Walks are held in the afternoon (3pm).  The late walk lets us avoid the worst of construction noise, allowing for more distancing while still being able to communicate.  We have also reduced the walk to every other week, on a day separate from the OAC update call.
    3. At this point we are still coming out of the ground.  As such, the CMAR's weekly drone videos and aerial photos have been invaluable for groking what is happening on site without being there on a weekly basis.
To be clear, this emergency has been timed ideally for this project, given the current progress of construction.  Furthermore it helps that as a State project, we have a full time inspector on site, and that the CMAR delivery fosters a more collegial atmosphere that DBB.  As such, I know I'm in a bit of a fantasy world that may be more difficult for smaller firms to institute.  But I hope this brings up a couple ideas that may be worth requesting for your own projects.

    All the best!
