Call for Presentation Proposals

Architecture Exchange East is a thought-leadership conference and expo curated by AIA Virginia.  This year, it will be held Nov. 7–9, 2018, in Richmond, Va., and we're expecting an audience of more than a thousand architects and allied professionals over the course of our three-day event. Our goal is to bring together the brightest minds and most engaging speakers to offer talks that are future-focused on a wide range of subjects ― and to provoke important conversations.

We're actively working to assemble a series of compelling Practice Management sessions. We're hoping to share best practices in the areas of:
    • Risk Management
    • Presentation Skills
    • Employee On-boarding and Acquisition
    • Pro-bono Work
    • Supporting Emerging Professionals
    • Firm Transitions

Talks could range from a one-hour session to a full-day workshop -- we don't want to box anyone into a particular format. We're encouraging creative approaches to content delivery, including panel discussions, tours, and guided collaborative conversations. We welcome all proposals!

Our deadline for proposals is on April 30. Following the deadline, each proposal will be carefully evaluated and selected by our Program Advisory Council. We anticipate announcing the program in July.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, comments or suggestions for speakers!
    My thanks,

I just today saw this post in the forum and was wondering how your RFP went. There is a robust discussion currently in this forum about peer groups and practice management. When i saw this I thought the November conference sounds like it is touching upon very important topics for practicing architects; ones that are too often neglected by the AIA. I am truly interested to see what the ultimate topics and seminars will be. Good luck to you, I think additional knowledge in practice management is something that would benefit all architects. I look forward to the conference!
