The Interior Architecture Knowledge Community (IAKC) is committed to advancing the practice of Interior Architecture by providing its membership with resources to elevate their professional practice and design excellence. We serve to facilitate a national dialogue that addresses a range of key issues, including innovative design and programming, the incorporation of sustainable materials and technologies, and the social, cultural, and spatial impact of architecture on human experience. IAKC seeks to address national issues with regional sensitivity, providing a platform for its membership to share knowledge, gain expertise, and form collaborative relationships with industry peers and allied partners.   • 1.  Young Architect Spotlight

    Aloha Interior Architecture Knowledge Community,

    The Young Architects Forum of AIA National is looking to spotlight a "young architect" (10 years or less licensed) in the interior architecture field and is aiming to showcase the diversity of our membership by featuring those beyond our YAF network. Information from this spotlight may appear on the @aiayaf ​​social media platform and on YAF's digital publication, Connection.

    We are soliciting interest until this coming Friday, April 17th and hope to gather a written or phone interview before the end of this month.

    Please send me an email directly if you or someone you know is interested.

    Hi Susan,

    We (the YAF) have took an internal look at what we have been putting out on social media and our online publication and much of the content is driven by our committee or our personal contacts. We're using Knowledge Net as a bridge to connect with the greater membership to enrich content and diversify the greater young architect voice that we represent.

    A contact of yours reached out to me directly via email. We are mainly looking to know of interested individuals by Friday and will follow up separately with them for exact questions in the coming weeks. Depending on their interest focus, we have different topics throughout the year, such as climate action, citizen architects, practice innovation, etc. in which they could be best featured.
