Hello, Interfaith Design Knowledge Community! I hope you'll take a moment to enjoy a guest blog post by Kim Schafer, the founder and partner of Community Bell Advocates, LLC. Feel free to share your own stories here regarding the impact of bells as "sonic analogues to public art" and "soundmarks" within their communities.

    Carillon Historical Park - Wikipedia
Carillon Historical Park is a 65-acre (26.3 ha) park and museum in Dayton, Ohio, which contains historic buildings and exhibits concerning the history of technology and the history of Dayton and its residents from 1796 to the present. The historical elements of the park were the brainchild of Colonel Edward Deeds.

    Carillon Historical Park - Wikipedia

The largest carillon in Ohio was built at the request of Colonel and Mrs. Edward Deeds. Completed in 1942, the 151-foot tower houses 57 bells. Upon its completion, the first concert was played by Mrs. Deed's herself on Easter Sunday of that same year. The carillon was refurbished in 1988, converting it from an electrically controlled carillon to a traditional, mechanical one. At Christmas it becomes an even bigger celebration as it becomes one of the largest "trees" in the country.
