A comprehensive collection of useful information on plastics is contained in the Architectural Plastics &
Polymer Composites in the 21st Century Conference Proceedings Plus package, providing a valuable resource for those involved with historic and contemporary architecture as well as those responsible for the viability and sustainability of cultural and historic objects. This Conference Proceeding Plus package replaces the March plastics conference organized by Technology & Conservation, the Boston Society of Architects' Historic Resources Committee, and Prof. Goulthorpe, MIT Dept. of Architecture that had to be cancelled due to Covid-19 . . . and presents the material that would have been presented at that event and much more. In its hardcopy format, the material in the package now offers an excellent, permanent reference compendium.
Briefly, this Conference Proceedings Plus package provides a convenient, practical way to expand your knowledge of plastics and polymers: • their properties • their performance including sustainability, energy savings, fire behavior, and durability • their usage in construction/fabrication of façades, buildings, bridges, other structures, and artistic works • their conservation/restoration/preservation and care in these applications.
    The Package is comprised of:
Conference Proceedings book consisting of papers on the subject areas that would have been discussed at the cancelled meeting, updated and authored by the people who were the scheduled speakers and are leaders in the architectural, engineering, conservation/restoration, and other fields involving the built environment and/or the care and treatment of artistic, cultural, and historic collections . . . with a final chapter featuring images and discussions of posters relating to the development of polymeric materials and to contemporary design and restoration/preservation projects
Digital File containing the complete content of over 40 historic and contemporary books and articles on plastics and polymer composites
Supplemental material providing additional data to further your understanding of the characteristics, versatility, and utilization of these material
Details on the topics covered in the Proceedings book, along with a listing of the 30+ authors of conference papers and the order form can be found in the attachment and are also downloadable at the BSA Historic Resources Committee website:
