The Green Sports Alliance is teaming up with the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to identify opportunities for energy and water use reduction and their associated costs within stadiums and arenas.

At the 2016 Summit in Houston, we will convene sports industry professionals, including venue operators, designers, and manufacturers for the Energy and Water Efficiency Workshop titled: "Tackling Energy and Water Use in Stadiums and Arenas: Identifying the Opportunities", hosted in conjunction with NIBS and DOE. Registration is free!

This workshop is intended to help characterize the current state of play, share best practices and identify any challenges to optimizing the sustainable design and operations of stadiums and arenas. The results of this effort will inform the development of future tools and guidance to support high-performance facilities—including the development of an ENERGY STAR Score for stadiums and arenas.

Participants should come prepared to share some of the actions they’ve taken in their own facilities to reduce energy and water use including the benefits received and any challenges they encountered along the way.
