At National Association of College and University Business Officer (NACUBO), Sally is the Director of Facilities Management and Environmental Policy since April 2013. She works collaboratively throughout the organization to deliver innovative, high quality information, programs, and services for the membership and other stakeholders relating to facilities and sustainability issues. Sally staffs the Sustainable Advisory Panel and is interweaving environmental sustainability programs to align with the NACUBO’s programs that promote sound financial sustainability stewardship. Before joining NACUBO she served as the System Director for Facilities Planning at Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (MnSCU) Office of the Chancellor for thirteen years. She was responsible for planning oversight of 27 million square feet in 54 campus locations which is structurally composed of 7 state universities and 25 two-year institutions with multiple campus sites with over 350,000 students. The capital budget process under her responsibility garnered over $962 million dollars (more than any other state agency).
Prior to MnSCU she was a team leader at the Department of Administration for the correctional system, capitol grounds and community college system. Before that work she was an architect in the private sector working with community and nonprofit groups and as an architectural instructor at two separate technical colleges.
She has an Environmental Design degree and the professional Architectural degree from the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota. In 2008 she was elevated as a fellow in the American Institute of Architects in the pubic architecture category. In 2009 she became LEED Accredited Professional certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
