Mr. Davis is an architect with over 30 years of experience as a program manager, design architect, technical lead, project manager, design manager and planner, primarily on programs and projects for government, educational, and public safety agencies. He is currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Cook County Department of Capital Planning and Policy, the lead architect managing the Department and overseeing the design and construction of over 300 projects annually with a capital budget of approximately $280m/year, in three portfolios of approximately 19m SF. He has worked in the private sector for a variety of firms, almost entirely for public agency clients, and also served as an architect and planner at the Chicago Park District. He has been visiting faculty in urban design, architecture, and architectural history at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Chicago, Notre Dame and IIT. He has researched, lectured and published scholarly works on the Prairie School architect Dwight Perkins. Mr. Davis has served on the Board of Directors of the Chicago and Illinois chapters of the American Institute of Architects and is also a local elected official in Oak Park, Illinois.
