Greg Burke say the A/a limitations comes from outside sources. While this is ofter true, as often as not, the limitation also comes from the lack of ambition of the architect. "Don't rock the boat", "this is the way it is always done" , "be responsible" and "fit in" - that is, a lack of aspiration - affects the thinking of too many architects, as much as the bad outside influences. We are loath to be self-critical but in my opinion the internal limitations we place on ourselves can be as much as more significant than external constraints.
