Who we are

The Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) is a Knowledge Community of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). We are a large and active group of over 10,000 architects and allied professionals concerned with the quality and design of all types of educational, cultural, and recreational facilities that promote lifelong learning in safe, welcoming and equitable environments. The CAE’s mission is to foster innovative and collaborative design of educational facilities and to heighten public awareness on the importance of learning environments.

  

  • 1.  Looking for Higher CAE Members Interested in Higher Education Subcommittee

    The new Co-Chairs if the Higher Education Subcommittee , Mark Dolny (ARC, Cambridge) and Michael Nieminen (Kliment Haldband, NYC), would like to invite all members of the CAE interested in issues specific to Higher Education to join us as we start to rebuild this Subcommittee. Our goal and new mission statement are geared towards building a community to explore issues pertaining specifically to College and Universities, and seek a dynamic group in which we can share ideas. We are excited to share our mission statement, and find individuals to help build this sector of the CAE.

     Please read our Mission Statement which is attached. Let us know if you are interested in participating.

    Both Michael and Mark will be at the CAE Spring Conference. We plan to schedule a time to meet with interested attendees.

    Our committee will also be hosting regular conference calls now planned for the second Friday of each month for knowledge sharing development of potential webinar content delivery for the CAE.
