We are looking for more than just case studies on excellent facilities, but proposals that look at the much bigger picture and somehow include, relate to, create, or build community. Some ideas might include:
  • What state and local policies enable the creation of effective communities through education?
  • What planning processes, tools, & techniques ensure that the link between education, community, and architecture is reinforced?
  • What academic and/or anecdotal research supports the link between education, community, and architecture?
  • How schools can be influenced and can influence their neighborhood.
  • Mixed use, community center, health center, multiple age, multiple education levels.
  • Multi-use, shared use.
  • Educational facilities as part of an urban environment.
  • Life-long learning.
  • Building that ties together a campus or brings together a community.
  • “Community” college.
  • Libraries.
