Linda Reeder, FAIA, LEED AP, currently produces
The Architectress
, a blog and free newsletter about women, architecture, and the history of America. She is the author of the books
Net Zero Energy Buildings: Case Studies and Lessons Learned
(Routledge, 2016) and
Guide to Green Building Rating Systems: Understanding LEED, Green Globes, ENERGY STAR, the National Green Building Standard, and More
(Wiley 2010), and several articles on sustainable building topics. She was Associate Editor for the 15th Edition of the
Architect’s Handbook of Professional Practice
. Linda is a professor in the Construction Management program at Central Connecticut State University where she teaches Construction Documents, CAD and BIM Tools, Sustainable Buildings, and Architecture for Construction Managers. Linda has served on thesis juries and taught in the Architecture Department at the University of Hartford, where she offered the program’s first Sustainable Design studio.
Linda was a member and 2013 Chair of the AIA’s Small Project Practitioners Advisory Group and the former editor of its SPP Journal. She is the former editor and subject matter expert for Building Performance for the AIA’s Soloso website (now Architects Knowledge Resource), to which she contributed over 100 pieces on sustainable design, accessibility, and other building performance topics. Linda served on the Board of Directors of AIA Connecticut and the Connecticut Green Building Council (where she co-chaired the Education Committee for two years), and is a former member of New Haven’s Commission on Disabilities. She is a graduate of the Yale School of Architecture and Oberlin College.
