Any action that diminishes the concept of the "Star Architect" would be a huge step forward in terms of the education of future architects still in school or in the emerging professional years of practice.

For too long, these architects seem to feel that their professional accomplishments entitle them to act in totally unethical ... not to say, unprofessional ... ways.  This seems to be most prevelent with student interns or emerging professionals whose age and short tenure at their firms makes them the most vulnerable.

I believe the COF needs to continue to follow the lead of Frances Halsband, FAIA, who this past year stepped up to demonstrate that a true professional is one who leads by positive actions.  I recommend that a session dealing with this issue be mandatory at all future AIA, AIAS and ACSA national conferences.

We must keep this issue on the "front burner.
