Architect of the Capitol

Surprising how little visibility the AIA had during the selection process this time.   About 10 years ago – before Steven Ayers was appointed as Architect of the Capitol - Marshall Purnell (then President of the AIA) and I went up on the hill and both testified as to WHY the Architect of the Capitol needed to be an Architect.    I am fairly certain I would have my testimony somewhere – had to be cleared through both GSA General Counsel and OMB.  Sounds as if it is a done deal now.

Would be helpful to have that testimony, Les.  If not now, for future use.  This issue does seem to arise every time we seek a new AOC.

    Les and Bob,
Looks like we need to get on the 10-year education cycle with Congress, especially given the turnover in members and committee chairs.  Too late for this cycle.
