    Just as a follow up to Jan's thoughtful idea, I think it is also a time to look at our profession writ large and the place of minority firms and architects.  As a step in that direction we need to look internally and it should be a joint AIA and National Organization of Minority Architects Op Ed.  "Black Firms Matter".

    If there is to be systemic change then we have to also look at the roles of persons of color in the planning and shaping of the built environment.  Ours will not become a truly representative profession if there are not robust project opportunities  available to firms of color not only in the public sector but in the private sector as well.
