Communities are changing rapidly and the active involvement of architects can (and should) facilitate that change. Of the many traits that characterize a leader, the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and provide direction are crucial, particularly to municipalities and local decision-making entities. Architects are well positioned to assume leadership roles within the public realm given that innovative thinking and a commitment to design excellence helps drives the profession.
