Letter from the REKC Chair, winter 2020

By Sande R. Frisen AIA posted 02-20-2020 03:23 PM

Happy New Year to all!

The Advisory Group in 2020 is focused on stepping up our activities from last year.  You should have received an email with a link to our Retail and Entertainment Membership Survey which will be instrumental in determining what new initiatives we roll out in the coming years. Please take five minutes to fill it out.

This March, we will host our first virtual charrette of the year. We are pleased to announce that The Ins and Outs of Access Control will include our first continuing education credit which will be an HSW credit.  We have also reached out to other Knowledge Communities and will be cross promoting this charrette with the Committee on Architecture for Education and Interior Architecture Knowledge Communities as well. We look forward to a good participation and a great dialogue.

This will also serve as my last intro letter as the Chair of the Retail and Entertainment Knowledge Community Advisory Group.  I am excited to see where Zach Smith takes this group this year and we are always looking to add some strong voices to assist and move the group forward. If you can’t participate in the Advisory Group, there are always opportunities to spotlight a recent project, provide some original research or case study or curate content for our quarterly charrettes.

Thanks again for a great year.
