The Interior Architecture Knowledge Community (IAKC) is committed to advancing the practice of Interior Architecture by providing its membership with resources to elevate their professional practice and design excellence. We serve to facilitate a national dialogue that addresses a range of key issues, including innovative design and programming, the incorporation of sustainable materials and technologies, and the social, cultural, and spatial impact of architecture on human experience. IAKC seeks to address national issues with regional sensitivity, providing a platform for its membership to share knowledge, gain expertise, and form collaborative relationships with industry peers and allied partners. An interview with Blair Kamin

Blair Kamin has been the Chicago Tribune's architecture critic since 1992. A graduate of Amherst College and the Yale School of Architecture, he was a fellow at Harvard's Nieman Foundation for Journalism. Kamin lectures widely and appears on television and radio. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism.

In this interview, Blair discusses the role of interior architects as place makers, interior city planners and “secret weapons against the spread of COVID”, creating important and equitable spaces for all segments of society.
