Our mission

The AIA Corporate Architects and Facility Management (CAFM) Knowledge Community consists of architects working within and for businesses and corporations. Our mission is to share expertise in the strategic, tactical, and operational activities of real property and facilities management in order to deliver value to the owners we represent.

Open positions

We are looking for architects interested in serving on our Knowledge Community Advisory Group for the following positions:

  • Website Content Manager to support CAFM KC Website
  • Website and Communication Coordinator to assure website, AIA, and member communication continuity

It will be responsibility of the Website Content Manager and Communication Coordinator to compile and recommend content for the CAFM Website and, with the guidance of the Communication Coordinator, facilitate distribution of content with AIA. The Website Content Manager and Communication Coordinator shall work together to assess and determine content of interest and relevance to CAFM community and members.  This may involve preparation or coordination of webcasts, member surveys, links to relevant content from industry partners or other KC’s.  Website advice and training is to be provided by the AIA.  This role to be supported by all AG members depending on topic and area of professional expertise.  The goal of this role is to stimulate sharing of knowledge and positive interaction among CAFM members as well as collaboration with other KC’s.

Commitment

2019 AIA Knowledge Community Advisory Group appointments are for a five year term by the AIA President before the end of 2018. Travel and time/meeting commitments will involve annual attendance at Conference on Architecture, attendance at annual KLA (Knowledge Leadership Assembly–partially funded by AIA), monthly conference calls, and shared assistance with various CAFM Advisory Group assignments and educational efforts.
