Who we are

The Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) is a Knowledge Community of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). We are a large and active group of over 10,000 architects and allied professionals concerned with the quality and design of all types of educational, cultural, and recreational facilities that promote lifelong learning in safe, welcoming and equitable environments. The CAE’s mission is to foster innovative and collaborative design of educational facilities and to heighten public awareness on the importance of learning environments.

The AIA Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) would like to invite you to participate with us at our Fall Conference at the EDspaces Digital Experience. Our events have always been about innovation, content, connections, and community. This is especially true and needed in today’s COVID environment. Together we can face uncertainties and overcome challenges successfully.

We’re inviting all architects and designers (AIA, CAE, or not!) to experience a conference that is a unique collaboration encouraging networking while giving attendees an opportunity to forge meaningful professional connections throughout the education sector.

The conference kicks off on October 28 with a keynote from noted innovation expert Ted Dintersmith offering a vision of what schools could be and ideas about small steps that lead to big changes to achieve it. Thought-leaders will present more than 40+ accredited education sessions (HSW, LU, NDCIQ and LEED) during the Main Event November 10-12. You’ll hear from speakers who explore how pedagogical innovation and design impact student outcomes and the relationship between facilities and learning.

Challenge the planning of future of learning environments and explore both temporary and permanent solutions in the Marketplace, providing for wellness and safety. A cross-section of high-profile, inspiring speakers will share their leadership stories and inspire attendees fostering transformation on behalf of students nationwide. And the best part, you don’t have to miss any sessions as they will be recorded and available on-demand to all registrants!

The conference planning committee has also planned several exciting live, digital experience tours of K-12 and higher educational facilities. Visit ED-spaces.com for more information and continuous updates.

Register today to attend our Fall Conference at EDspaces: The Digital Experience to discover larger issues influencing the design of environments for teaching and learning and bring that transferable knowledge back to your team. Better yet, bring your whole team.

Looking forward to seeing you online!
