2018 AIA AAH SAR Architecture for Health Conference 08/23-08/24

  • 1.  2018 AIA AAH SAR Architecture for Health Conference 08/23-08/24

    Posted 08-13-2018 04:19 PM

The conference this year is scheduled in conjunction with the 50-year Anniversary celebration of the Graduate Program in Architecture + Health at Clemson University. The Clemson Architecture + Health Program is nationally and internationally recognized in the profession as one of the oldest and most comprehensive programs of its kind. The post-conference event will reflect on the history of the program, its contributions to the discipline of Healthcare Architecture, its current work in teaching and research, and the future of the program.

Given this alignment, a multi-day series of events is intended to collectively reflect back and forward fifty years; looking back on the past 50 years of healthcare architecture and speculating, to the degree possible, on the next 50 years of healthcare and settings in the 2018 AIA-AAH South Atlantic Region (SAR) Chautauqua 9.0

How can healthcare architecture address changes we cannot even imagine in settings built today that may have a 50+ year lifespan?

What will be the role and responsibility of the built environment in the future for supporting human health and the delivery of healthcare services?

These are the questions we hope to explore through the following sessions:
    • The role of healthcare organizations in promoting and supporting health
    • Regenerative Health Supporting Healthcare Facilities
    • Emerging trends in healthcare delivery and settings at Kaiser Permanente
    • Evolution of the FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities
    • Micro Healthcare Settings
