  • 1.  TJC / CMS Standards of Conditions & Participation

    Posted 08-30-2017 09:36 AM
What the current  TJC / CMS Standards of Conditions & Participation regarding buildings? I understand they  include the the FGI guidelines for 2014, the 2012 NFPA 101, and NFPA 99, . Are there other codes or guidelines included in the current TJC /CMS standards of Conditions for Participation? Is there a published list?

CMS adopted the 2012 NFPA Life Safety Code (LSC) and the 2012 NFPA 99 (except chapters 7, 8 & 13) including select TIAs of both effective 07/01/16 per the Final Rule published on 05/04/16.

The FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities is not adopted by CMS although the majority of state HC licensure agencies have adopted the Guidelines as a licensure requirement.
