Who we are

The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP) serves as a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in the deployment of computer technology in the practice of architecture. TAP leaders monitor the development of computer technology and its impact on architecture practice and the entire building life cycle, including design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.

While I use Bluebeam for .pdf mark-ups and the like, I saw a very impressive presentation from Bluebeam Revu 12 that was doing just what you are asking.

The National Institute of Building Sciences has developed a number rapid visual assessment tools for use by the VA, GSA and similar agencies. They have be tried and tested for a number of building types. Offering them to the industry for us use is on their agenda. Check them out at nibs.org

Roger Grant at NIBS leads the project and can help you with information.
