The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP) serves as a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in the deployment of computer technology in the practice of architecture. TAP leaders monitor the development of computer technology and its impact on architecture practice and the entire building life cycle, including design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.

    USIBD's 2nd Symposium will co-locate and immediately precede the BIMForum in Atlanta!

    October 16th & 17th, 2016 Hyatt Regency, Atlanta, GA

    • Kick off the evening of October 16th with Welcome Reception.
    • Quick fire presentations all day on October 17th, covering many topics facing building documentation professionals. 
    • Round-table discussions and networking breaks.
    • Limited exhibit space in the networking area.
    • Overlap-joint session with BIMForum on October 17th.
    • Two networking Receptions, a Networking Luncheon, Breakfast and coffee breaks for maximum interaction and connections.

    The U.S. Institute of Building Documentation (USIBD) is holding its  2nd Annual Symposium  "Discovering the Built Environment"  October 16th & 17th  at the Hyatt Regency, Atlanta.

    We will bring together professionals from all corners of the Building Documentation industry in a day of QUICK FIRE sessions from fellow professionals working in the Building Documentation trenches.  

    Call for Abstracts

    USIBD is now seeking presentation submissions 

    for the Symposium from all stakeholder groups in Building Documentation, including: architects, engineers, surveyors, contractors, construction managers, owners, educators, students, manufacturers, the media, hardware developers and software developers. Presentations will be live, and last 20 minutes, including Q&A.

    Share your experience, and submit a speaker proposal today!  Be recognized as an industry expert by your peers, and get exposure for prospective clients in the Building Documentation industry.  

    Submission Format: Executive Summary, not to exceed 500 words. 

    Submission Deadline:  July 1, 2016, 11:50 pm PDT.

    Selected abstracts will be confirmed by August 1, 2016.  Conference registration will be included for all presenters.  Presenters are responsible for their own travel and lodging.  If the primary presenter is unable to attend the conference and has made arrangements for someone else to present, that person must register and pay to attend the conference.
