A look back on AIA Europe Milan Conference and an "I Look Up" video

  • 1.  A look back on AIA Europe Milan Conference and an "I Look Up" video

I was not sure whether I was going to this conference or not, as I had participated three Conferences in the row and I wanted to have a little break. But at last minute I decided to go, after all, how often you could get to an AIA Conference in Milan and at the same time experience the EXPO (which last time it was in Milan on 1906).

Milan is universally recognised as the economic capital of Italy but it is also a world capital of art, fashion, and design. Historical buildings, villas, monuments, modern-architectural buildings, churches and abbeys all offer a variety of styles and striking details that are well worth getting to know.

Key architects with contemporary buildings in the city include Arata Isozaki, Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind, Andrea Maffei Associates, Ian Ritchie Architects, Massimiliano Fuksas, Cesar Pelli, OBR Open Building Research, Stefano Boeri Architetti, Cino Zucchi Architetti, and Park Associati among others.

A century after their first International Exposition, Milan has been chosen again as host city for the Universal Expo 2015, an event that from May 1 to October 31, 2015 will turn the world’s attention to Italy.

I wanted to share with you the “I Look Up” video in the occasion of the Milan Conference. This amazing video has just recently been posted.

Please  share it in your networks.

This video was sponsored and produced by ISPLORA (Continuing education for architects) which produces video documentaries which are offered as CES credits.
Using videos reminiscent of movies, stories and eyewitness accounts by the protagonists of contemporary architecture, they share the uniqueness of Italian architectural masterpiece.
They analyze the most recent and significant projects of Italian Architecture, using words and images to convey information and content, trying to push through the emotions and motivations which guided their creators.

I also want to thank Gregg Brodarick, Assoc. AIA and the Milan team for organizing such an amazing event.

As an architect and a member of AIA, I was amazed with Italian architecture and look forward to using this experience as an inspiration for my next projects.
