And it begins...

Here we are in London. Where it’s pounds, not dollars; the tube, not the subway; chips, not fries; and football, not soccer.  But language is not the only thing to change… remember to change those clocks and the green in your wallet!

Over 60 AIA members have arrived from across the United States and abroad to participate in this international event to explore and discuss the role that architects have in providing for the future through well designed schools.  The three day conference, organized with a partnership with the British Council for School Environments (BCSE), will be a time to both take in new ideas and perspectives while also sharing your perspectives and thoughts to everyone present here at the conference in London and through the internet.

Get ready to see some of the newest buildings in education to be built in England, hear about what unique changes there are in new school models, discuss where the future of school design is headed, and consider how important the long-term investment is to have a well designed educational facility!

We hope you enjoy the conference!  And for those of you not attending, we hope we (Emily and I) provide you with enough insight to make you feel as if you’re right here with us London!
