Marlene Imirzian began her career in architecture in Detroit, Michigan under the mentorship of important modernist architects Gunnar Birkerts and William Kessler. In 1995 she formed Marlene Imirzian & Associates Architects. The firm is a regional practice with offices in Phoenix, Arizona and Escondido, California. The work completed includes a diverse range of projects for higher education, civic, medical, historic preservation, commercial and residential clients. The firm is known for its design excellence, project performance, and as a leader in integration of sustainable design practices for building. Marlene is a faculty associate at the School of Architecture + Landscape Architecture at Arizona State University Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. She currently serves as a member of the Alumni Board of Governors of the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.
