Welcome to our third CRANtv video "Who needs and Architect?" ( link is here http://www.youtube.com/CRANtv ).  This video is intended to show that licensed architects are specialists. Part of becoming one is to understand a multitude of details, products, and technologies within a specific field of design. This only happens with years of experience and continuing education exactly relevant to your type of project. In is video we present a list of things to help the homeowner decide which Architect is best for them.

The second video, "Who needs An Architect"
is intended to educate the public on the many different types of projects that a Residential Architect is essential to the success of.  There remains a preconception that Residential Architects only provide services for the super rich. In fact, this is simply not true. Architects work on projects of all sizes and complexity. They add value from design and construction to the resale of your home. Project size or scale is irrelevant!  Who needs an architect? You do!

The first video titled "The Architects Education" was intended to show the public how an architect differs from a draftsperson or designer, through education, internship, testing, and continuing education.  Most importantly, the video explains that the Architects service adds value to one's home over time, helps avoid costly mistakes during construction and optimizes budget, aesthetics, function and durability.

The goal of CRANtv is to educate the public virally through the internet. They are intended to educate the public on the importance of using an architect, understanding the value of the architectural process, and being able to decipher the most qualified architect for a project.   It is the goal of CRAN that Architects could post links to these videos on their website, or direct potential clients to CRANtv by sharing a link to CRANtv.

The CRAN Advisory Group voted to self fund the first four videos of this series with the proceeds from our annual national symposiums.  We are in debt to our many sponsors.  Furthermore, CRAN  has received a grant from AIA National to build two more videos for a total of six. It is our hope that we can produce a video every other month over the next year.

Doug Patt of "How To Architect" and myself,  incoming CRAN Chairman, are teaming up to develop the scripts, which are then  reviewed and approved by CRAN Advisory Group's Executive Committee and the AIA's National Staff for legal consulting.

CRANtv welcomes all ideas and suggestions to David Andreozzi at dsra@andreozzi.com
