Who we are

The mission of the Historic Resources Committee (HRC) is to identify, understand, and preserve architectural heritage, both nationally and internationally. HRC is engaged in promoting the role of the historic architect within the profession through the development of information and knowledge among members, allied professional organizations, and the public.

    Join APT DC at historic Mount Vernon on Thursday, March 24 for our annual symposium Digital Documentation for Heritage Preservation.  This year's symposium is free of chargeHear from leading experts in the field, participate in demonstrations, and learn how digital documentation, in its many forms, continues to revolutionize heritage preservation. Topics range from the use of laser scanning and BIM technologies to infrared thermography and the use of drones to document and assess heritage sites. 

    Speakers and demonstrators include professionals from Mount Vernon, NPS HABS, Direct Dimensions Inc, and other local firms. Further information on the program and speakers is to follow. Finish the day with a happy hour and networking event also at Mount Vernon. 

    On Wednesday, March 23, Mount Vernon will host its Regional GIS Symposium for Heritage Resources. Please consider attending both events. Registration information for the Mount Vernon event is available here.
