Description:

History is a vital part of architecture. Buildings can remain for decades or centuries, and every professional can learn something from the history of these valued structures. In this session, you'll receive a history report directly from the makers of that history—along with insights and strategies to use in your practice today.

The AIA Committee on Design Twenty-Five Year Award identifies enduring design excellence. In this presentation, you'll hear the back stories behind some of the most treasured buildings of the last century.

Project designers or members of the original design teams will share first-hand knowledge of the award-winning projects, from conceptual development to construction, along with details of client relationships that fostered the development of the projects.

Plus, members of the Honors and Awards jury will provide insight into the selection process, giving you effective strategies for submitting your own projects for awards.
