As architects, we encounter water in all of our projects and design solutions. This year’s full-day workshop will expand our understanding of the significant and immediate impact architectural design can have on the environment as a result of our choices regarding water.
Featured speakers will address water as a vital ecological system, review developing technology for reducing burdens on water supplies, describe the important criteria for site selection, and outline the components of effective storm water management and landscape architecture. In addition, you’ll be able to participate in a tour of a new environmentally friendly global communications facility or a manufacturing plant tour that will highlight sustainable processes.
I look forward to seeing you on November 7 at the American Club in Kohler for a Talk on Water. AIA members will be able to earn up to 5.0 AIA/CES learning unit hours related to health, safety and welfare (HSW).
David G. Peterson, AIA Chair, 2014 AIA Wisconsin Fall Workshop
