School security has been a well discussed topic in the past few years.  While most discussions focus on the administrative policies and preparations, and planning for significant security events, this webinar will focus on the planning and design of the building itself.  We will provide a big picture overview of school design concepts starting with how the building sits on the site and working into the interior of the space.

Learning Objectives

Attendees will learn:

1.    Identify elements related to site design that affect the security of K-12 facilities
2.    Be able to explain how the entrance and circulation of K-12 schools affect the safety of the building
3.    Be able to explain how transparency makes facilities safer
4.    Identify three topics to consider when addressing the safety of an existing facility
