The care and feeding of your project after it leaves the drawing board may be your best insurance that the project will finish the way you planned. When a project is in the construction phase, and questions or issues come up…who knows anymore? Depending on whom you ask on the team, the answer will be different. The expectations of the parties have become reality; proper or not. Who reads specs anymore…or looks at the plans? Have you ever heard, “this is the way we always do it?” How the teams responds and what gets done on a site varies wildly from project to project. Why is that? What should you do when your project goes to construction to make sure you reach your goals and provide your client with a successful project? Come and get involved in the open discussion to hear how.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will be made aware of the successful elements required to maintain a project team atmosphere during construction while at the same time reviewing installation procedures; achieving compliant final project “operation” prior to acceptance by the owner.
  2. Challenges will be presented and debated, encouraging participants to rethink conventional observation methods of code compliance, safety systems and regulatory applications addressed during the typical job site visit.
  3. Final implementation of ethical and regulatory practices that govern the construction phase will be discussed. Participants will be exposed to perspectives of those held responsible; thus be better prepared to lead the team to successful project conclusion.
  4. Potential construction phase actions will be recognized; beginning the building of a unified construction team spirit early in the project ; subsequently reducing both the Publics and Firms exposure to danger and risk.
