The Old Campus of Georgia Tech is renowned for its stunning and character-rich architecture, dating back to the 19th century. That makes it the perfect venue for this inspired full-day workshop, designed to demystify the all-important preservation project. In "Exploring Preservation and Design," we'll study the planning and design of the campus' 12 historic buildings. You'll gain new tools and insights to help you:

Establish the scope and approach to a preservation project.
Design in a historic context through thoughtful and creative design solutions.
Thoughtfully combine the significance of the past and future needs/aspirations.
Manage the design process within the regulatory environment of preservation.

This workshop will include presentations that address advanced planning, pre-design, design, and the construction process to ensure delivery of a successful project. You'll gain a heightened ability to scope work, create and manage teams, and exceed client expectations. NOTE: This workshop will be held offsite at The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), School of Architecture East Building. Registrants are expected to make their way to Georgia Tech on their own and/or via public transportation.
