12th International Forum of Young Architects

Forum in Flers, France 7/18 December 2015

The International Council of French Architects (CIAF), UIA French Section, and the Young Architects World Federation (FMJA) thank you for having spread the information sent to you on May among the young architects of your country.

Thanks to your cooperation, we have received 79 candidacies from 27 different countries for the next edition of the  Forum which will be held in Flers, France from December 7th to December 18th 2015. The Forum theme will be “Flers, a rural metropolis in an urban development process”.

 

The selective process has been burdensome given that every candidate was highly qualified.

25 attendees have be selected to work within 5 teams.

Algeria, Australia, Azerbaijan, Benin, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, China, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Greece, India, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Senegal, Togo, Vietnam, and France will be represented in Flers.

 

The Forum objective is to find solutions for the city to support the reappropriation of the city centre as a structuring element of a rural agglomeration.

During 12 days architects, town planners and landscape architects under forty together with tutors from different backgrounds and cultures will meet and compare their work methods, information and ideas concerning the reconquest of the city centre and its relationship with the station and beyond.

On the last day, each team will present its proposals in front of an International Jury. The awards are honorary.

The organizer will provide accommodation and meals. There is no enrolment fee.

Attendees are responsible for their travel expenses to the site (Flers) and visa costs.

The International Union of Architects (UIA) supports the event organized under the patronage of UNESCO.
