Description

This award winning project will be presented by the design architect Michael Folonis. He will share planning concepts, methods for achieving healing environments and patient experience-enhancing features which all made this project a design award recipient.

For nearly half of his forty-plus year career, John Kreidich managed planning, design, and construction of healthcare facilities totaling over a half billion dollars (2015), including four years as AVP of medical facility operations. Currently the go-to resource for all hospital-related safety, infection control, sustainable building, and material/equipment procurement matters at McCarthy Building Company’s Central Healthcare Unit, Kreidich joined McCarthy in 2000 to direct operations of a continuous work program specializing in high-risk acute-care renovations.

Michael W. Folonis, FAIA is Director of Design at Michael W. Folonis, Architects. He established the practice in Santa Monica in 1983, an award-winning firm whose work has been widely published and exhibited nationally and internationally. His office is recognized as one of the leading innovative architectural firms in Los Angeles. Michael holds a Master's Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a Bachelor's of Architecture Degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). He currently teaches at the Southern California Institute of Architecture, SCI-Arc in Los Angeles, California.
