Project Description

Earn 1 HSW

In its 16th year, the Housing Awards program was established to emphasize the importance of good housing as a necessity of life, a sanctuary for the human spirit, and a valuable national resource. The AIA/HUD Secretary’s Award recognizes excellence in affordable housing architecture, neighborhood design, participatory design, and accessibility. In 2016, from a highly competitive group of entries, in 2016, ten projects were selected for the AIA Housing Awards and four projects were selected for the AIA/HUD Secretary’s Awards. This webinar will provide a deeper knowledge of these awards programs, which are managed by the Housing and Community Development Network (AIA Knowledge Community). We will present the 2016 awarded projects, discuss some details about their design and construction, and provide a few of the jury’s comments about the projects.
