The AIA Chicago Community Interface Committee serves as a group that is dedicated to increasing Architect's knowledge of and participation with community groups and non-profit organizations by providing continuing education content related to Public Interest Design and provided leadership in other PID related endeavors.

Let us know what you think about what the CIC does locally, and also share with us any other AIA groups that focus on PID in your communities.  What do these groups do?  How do they do it?  Are these groups successful?  Do they provide value to both AIA membership and the community?

Should the AIA take a larger role in this effort?  Should this happen at the local, regional or national level, or all of the above?  Why or why not?

Is there any downside to the increased involvement of the AIA in PID efforts?  If so, what might it be?
