    Congratulations to the 2014 grant recipient Alison Steele for her proposed research that will be a comprehensive investigation into the design and development of accessory dwelling units (ADUs), with an emphasis on lowering the cost of construction.

    The AIA Small Project Practitioners (SPP) and Housing Knowledge Community (HKC) are proud to offer the 2014 AIA Innovation and Practice in Housing Design Research Grant. This grant will fund one emerging professional (defined below) to conduct research on residential design practice in small architectural firms or a topic of direct applicability to these firms. Applicants are encouraged to research emerging approaches to the professional practice of architecture.
