Bio

Dr La Roche is a tenured Professor of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona University and Sustainable Design leader of the commercial practice at RTKL Associates. He has more than 25 years of experience in professional practice, research, and education. Pablo has authored more than 130 technical papers in journals and conferences and has led or been part of many award winning projects in USA, Venezuela, Mexico and Spain and the second edition of his book “Carbon Neutral Architectural Design” will be published by CRC Press Taylor Francis in 2016. Pablo has a professional Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Master’s of Science in Architecture from Universidad del Zulia, Venezuela, and a PhD from the University of California Los Angeles. He has served as chair or technical reviewer in numerous conference sessions and journals and will chair the 2016 Passive Low Energy Architecture PLEA conference in Los Angeles. He is also past president of the Society of Building Science Educators (SBSE) and chair of the solar buildings division of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES).
