Bio

Katherine Bubriski has spent most of the last 15 years working with non-proft clients on K-12 Education and Healthcare projects enhancing clients’ missions, services and environments. Her projects have been recognized in local and national publications including the Winter 2015 Architecture Boston magazine’s Case study: Mattapan - How good design can boost a community’s physical and civic health. This same project, Mattapan Community Health Center, was awarded a BSA Healthcare Facilities Design Award and IES Illumination Award. Katherine is a leader within the sustainable architecture field, both within her firm and throughout the industry. She has had regional and national speaking engagements including at Greenbuild, NESEA BuildingEnergy, US Dept of Commerce, Massachusetts State House, Boston Society of Architects and US Green Building Council Massachusetts. Topics of her presentations include integrated design, net zero energy, user engagement, advocacy, the state of architecture today among others. Katherine also works with colleagues to provide mentoring and share her knowledge in these areas. In addition to sharing her expertise, Katherine works diligently to advance the profession by bringing together individuals and organizations to develop solutions to common goals as well as volunteering her service to help communities improve their environment. She is the Advocacy Chair at the USGBC Massachusetts, promoting policy that supports the implementation of sustainable communities and buildings. As chair, Katherine is currently working with municipalities across the Commonwealth to create net zero energy action plans for their communities.
