Who we are

The Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) is a Knowledge Community of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). We are a large and active group of over 10,000 architects and allied professionals concerned with the quality and design of all types of educational, cultural, and recreational facilities that promote lifelong learning in safe, welcoming and equitable environments. The CAE’s mission is to foster innovative and collaborative design of educational facilities and to heighten public awareness on the importance of learning environments.

    The Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture, at the Salk Institute in LaJolla, CA has posted a call for papers for its September 2014 conference.  It is as much about architecture as it is about neuroscience and I would encourage you to consider submitting a proposal.  If you have a project that you think demonstrates an aspect of the effects of designed space on learning, please propose it for consideration.  The link is as follows:  http://www.anfarch.org/news/2014-anfa-conference-cfp/

    This is a wonderful opportunity to see what connections can be made between architecture and neuroscience.  If you have a project you would like to present please submit a proposal.  Just attending this conference will surely be fascinating.  Check out the ANFA website and register to attend!!!
