Bio

Arlen M. Solochek, FAIA, is a registered architect, I currently am an independent consultant with special interest in forensic investigation and expert consultancy, design/construction industry contract analysis and claims, Higher Ed facility design & construction, and construction delivery options.

Prior to retirement, I was the Associate Vice Chancellor, Capital Planning and Special Projects for the Maricopa Community College District. “Maricopa”, is one of the largest community college districts in the nation, and the largest provider of post-secondary education in the State of Arizona. Prior to Maricopa, Arlen worked as staff architect for a major Arizona public utility, in private architectural practice and at Arizona State University managing construction of major capital improvements and maintenance projects.

Arlen served on the AIA Documents Committee 2008-2019, the group responsible for writing new and updating existing AIA agreements and forms.  He was the Task Group Chair for the A201-2017 General Conditions update, and Co-Chair of the Task Group providing the 2019 update of the CMa/CMc document family. He has been a speaker at AIA National Conventions, conferences, and national webinars. He also served as Vice Chair, Chair and representative to Western Mountain Region for the AIA Fellows in Arizona.​
