Who we are

The mission of the AIA Center for Leadership is to inspire, empower, and engage AIA members to be leaders. In line with our mission the goal of the CFL is to focus on the three main tasks identified for architects to become more involved as leaders:

1) the evaluation, creation, and maintenance of leadership resources
2) advisory support for AIA leadership develop programs 
3) increase member participation and preparedness for AIA leadership

    AIAKinetic is available for download in both the Apple and Google Play Stores.

    AIAKinetic is an initiative of the AIA Small Firm Round table that empowers the successful practice of architecture. It is primer for young architects and a resource for mid-career professional. Kinetic covers the breadth what it takes to be successful in architecture practice. It is a constantly growing collection of succinct, 250-word articles, short enough to be easily read and long enough to convey essentials of architecture practice. Architects from all over the country have seeded Kinetic with more than 250 valuable articles. All users are invited to provide commentary as well as additional articles. The AIA SFRT has a team of editors and curators committed to keeping the content fresh and current.

    AIA Kinetic has a number of interactive features and enhancements that create an interesting dynamic for users. You can read articles, comment, like or dislike, share with others, invite friends to participate and submit new articles with different points of view or on new topics. AIA Kinetic is constantly evolving and looking forward to having users help shape the future of the App as well as the future of architecture.

    AIA Kinect is worth a look, for those who have not checked it out yet.

    While the short-form is great for filling in small periods of time, the value would increase if each short article contained links to long-form content on the same subjects.

    Thanks for your comments, Christopher. Most of the articles have a number of other reference resources, including magazine articles, blog posts, and books. Click on the "i" icon at the bottom of each article and select "MORE INFO". Brian

    Brian,

    Thanks for the quick reply! I see what you mean, and yes, some of the articles that I have read contain links to more in-depth resources. This is a great function that makes the app really valuable. The short articles allow one to do "window shopping" and then the long-form content is available when one really wants to go inside and look around. Nicely done.

    What would be the best way to suggest appropriate further reading for the articles that do not have any links to additional content?

    AIA Kinetic has a team of Editors standing by, ready to receive new articles as well as suggestions such as yours for additional reading.
