Help Wanted: Emerging Professional for the Project Delivery Knowledge Community

The Advisory Group of the Project Delivery Knowledge Community (AIA) seeks a qualified and interested emerging professional volunteer to join the Advisory Group as a volunteer leader for a up to a three-year term. The focus of the PDKC is to increase the dialogue and advance the education and understanding of alternate project delivery methods. The PDKC desires an emerging professional to help foster the next generation of architects experienced in and knowledgeable of alternate project delivery strategies. The PDKC hopes to enhance leadership and connect with other Knowledge Communities through development of relevant and accessible information on alternate project deliveries, including Design-Build (D-B), Construction Management at Risk (CMR), Public Private Partnerships (P3) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).   

Responsibilities include:

  • Suggest strategies to increase leadership and best practices
  • Connect with other Knowledge Communities for information exchange and collaboration
  • Propose website content and blog themes to Advisory Group members by conference call once per month
  • Create a Call for Submissions soliciting articles on thewebsite and PDKC theme, and disseminate the call through Knowledge Community blogs, by coordinating e-blasts with AIA staff
  • Select and edit submissions and pass them on to other members of the Advisory Group; obtain copyright notices, format articles, upload content to the AIA’s Architect’s Knowledge Resource

Requirements:

  • Architect earlier in career development
  • Proven, personal experience with alternative project delivery methods, e.g. D-B, CMR, P3, and/or IPD
  • Commitment to advancing the profession through information dissemination
  • Strong communication skills
  • Blogging experience (preferred)
  • Social media experience (preferred)

The anticipated time commitment is 6-10 hours monthly to participate in teleconference meetings, conference planning, and content development.
