Lighten up guys; give the young man a break.  He's evidently been trained to be an architect; he's working on his IDP. Per his post, he hasn't been able to find employment in an Architect's office so he isn't able to work under the supervision of an Architect as some of you so emphatically suggest.  He is out of work - there are literally hundreds of licensed Architects in the State of Florida that are out of work.  Hell, I have almost 40 years of experience in the profession and can't find a position with a firm.  I'm working as a consultant because my expertise is other than design.  He needs some sort of income to support his family and he obviously has some sort of reputation as a good draftsperson; probably doing a few jobs for developers and folks wanting to do add-ons.  He just wants to be legit and probably thought he could get some good advice from the profession/professionals.  Instead he's getting all sorts of bashing.  You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The employment market today isn't what it was when we got started.  Those of you in Florida that's giving him such a hard time . . . offer him a job and help him get his license.
