The Academy of Architecture for Justice is proud to announce the publication of 2012 Justice Facilities Review. This year the jury selected 28 projects to be published; nine of those projects received Merit awards, and four others received Citation awards, the highest award designation. The jury was charged with judging submissions on how well they functioned as a justice facility, such as providing an efficient layout, creating a quality environment, and improving the job performance of staff. They also recognized projects for being innovative, introducing new design strategies, and designing for best practices.
