He is a registered architect, an awarded educational facility planner, and a Certified Construction Specifier.

Robert Matschulat is uniquely qualified to address the technical aspects of educational issues as well as the educational implications of technical issues.

Beyond architecture, his accomplishments include the definition, development and/or management of many thousands of individual projects that were coordinated into some of the largest and most successful public school capital improvement programs in Colorado state history, totaling over $1.6 billion, adjusted to current value. He has researched, developed, and managed both educational and technical standards for the largest school district in Colorado, which in turn, have been fully or partially adopted by other school districts and public entities.

He has developed and implemented protocols to apply such standards to assessment and management of school facilities. He has created and applied models for school building capacity, utilization, project prioritization, construction cost analysis, capital program budgets, and proactive facility management.

Robert Matschulat is a team facilitator and consensus builder. His approach is evidence-based and mission-focused. He is inclusive, having collaborated with hundreds of diverse people and groups including educators, boards, administrators, citizens, and students to develop and successfully implement capital projects for Colorado schools.

He is a creative critical thinker and problem solver able to comprehend and analyze complex quantitative, qualitative, spatial, and technical information. His superior communication skills serve to enhance stakeholder understanding and decision making.

Robert Matschulat is a lifelong learner dedicated to ongoing professional development, growth, and “giving back.” He is active in a number of professional organizations and recognized as a professional resource for educational facility planning, design, construction, and management in the Rocky Mountain region.
