Well stated by Busse.  Also, one can look to the education realm and find the countless studies on the positive benefits natural light and views have on the learning process, which in turn have been extended to the working place.   

Perhaps windowless apartments are a reflection of an increasingly internally focused society where social interaction occurs on a digital device instead of on a sidewalk cafe.  What next, windowless Starbucks.
